Speaking to
the members of the Fourth Estate of the Realm at Ikoyi Cemetery, Obalende,
Ikoyi, Lagos Island, Lagos. South West, Nigeria where the last remains of
Prince Kazeem Ademola Akinloye is lewd to mother earth the President of Centre
for Human and Socio-Economic Rights (CHSR) Comrade Alex Omotehinse on behalf
of Civil Society Stakeholders is deftly and critically asking who are the
killers of Prince Akinloye, who was brutally assassinated on black Monday,
August 26th 2024, in a broad day light on the ever busy Chevron
Drive Along the Lekki Axis of Lagos State.
The assassinated Prince Akinloye was
the son of His Royal Highness Oba Tijani Akinloye, Sateru II, Ojomu Community
of Ajiran Land, Lagos. Furthermore, Comrade Omotehinse states that the deceased
was waylaid by his Assailants who wickedly shot and machete him to death adding
that the motive of his killers could only be ascertained after a thorough
police investigations and he also added that it is imperative to inform the citizenry
that the manner with which Prince Akinloye was assassination follows the
pattern of the gruesome killing of Mr. Sheriff Ishola Salami of MOBA Town
adjacent to Ajiran on Tuesday, April 18
th, 2023.
Comrade Omotehinse
avers that the Police really got to priotize the investigations of the killing
of Prince Akinloye and the earlier unfortunate incident involving Mr. Salami so
as to ascertain the immediate and remote flaks considering concerns, fear,
doubts et’al amongst the native citizenry and
as well as
cross sections of residents of Ojomu Environs. Comrade Omotehinse states that
the killers of Mr. Salami are yet to be investigated, apprehended and brought
to book good 16 months after the wicked incident averring that all efforts by
his family, the leadership of Ojomu Community and their organization (CHSR) to
get the Police to do investigations and unearth the remote reasons surrounding
his killing has been deliberate attempt by the Police High Command in Lagos to scale
up the wicked crime. He adds that they had in their previous press briefings on
the death of Mr. Salami, altered the Police and the Lagos State Government of
the grave implications of allowing murderers escape Justice through quiet
indifference or complications by inactions and intentional equivocation.
He
adds that murderers are heavily goaded and emboldened by the lame duck approach
of the State to ensure that victims get Justice as they are therefore compelled
to ask:
WHAT’S THE POLICE AND LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT ARE UP TO THIS TIME
AROUND. He adds again that the assassination of Prince Akinloye should no doubt,
be deemed callous, wanton and largely unacceptable in a sane clime. He says
that they are calling on the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbetokun
and the Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo Olu to openly
condemn the brutal killing of Prince Akinloye and Mr. Salami.
He adds that a
high powered and honest personnel be mandated to carry out full scale of
investigations and arrest all and sundry in the wicked killings of Prince Akinloye
and Mr. Salami. Speaking with the Gentlemen of the Press after the internment
of Prince Akinloye a Man Friday of his Dayo Joshua states that a part of him
(Dayo Joshua) died with Prince Akinloye averring that the trauma of his assassinations
is still a big shock to him and his spouse.
He states that Prince Akinloye sold
crates of eggs to them at a very reduced rates compared to what goes on in the
open markets adding that he and others shall eternally miss him and he also
added that the powers that be should provide justice for him et’al also
adducing that nobody is safe in the Republic. He adds again that the
unfortunate truncating of the life of Prince Akinloye at 50 years Old is a
monumental waste to humanity because he was a PHD Holder and Technocrat of
uncommon standards.
