NEWS EXTRA DR. UYI DEFENDS SENATE PRESIDENT AKPABIO FROM CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS MAKING ROUNDS

The President General of the Global Peace Movement International, Dr. Mike Uyi, has come to the defense of Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, debunking claims that he made the controversial statements “Protest while we sit, eat at home” comments that have gone viral on social media and various traditional media outlets. 

In a press briefing held at Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ) Premises in Benin City on Tuesday August 13th, 2024, Dr. Uyi clarifies that the controversial statements which have sparked widespread outrages among the citizenry of the republic was not originally made by Senator Akpabio. 

Instead, Dr. Uyi averred that the statement was first pronounce by the Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) during a recent event in the Niger Delta, South-South of Nigeria.
