POLITICS INEC DOES NOT PRODUCE CANDIDATES FOR POLITICAL PARTIES……….. DR. ONUOHA

Speaking as the Edo State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Hon. Dr. Anugbum Onuoha at one day stakeholders meeting comprising the Traditional Leaders, Religious and Political Party Leaders for the purposes of sensitizing them on the Edo Gubernatorial Election of September 21^st, 2024. 

He deftly and critically states that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) does not produce candidates for political parties adding that the political parties are the ones who produce their candidates through their Internal Democratic Constitution guarding their Internal Democracy and he also added that all INEC does is to supervise and monitor their primary election for the purposes of keeping with the stipulated laws that establishes INEC as an umpire. 

Furthermore, he states that INEC shall never rig election (s) in favour of any Political Party, rather INEC is set up to conduct Free, Fair, Credible, Peaceful elections any given time the commission deems it necessary to hold such elections. He submitted all these pragmatic views at the INEC Headquarters, Aduwawa Road, Benin City Edo State, South-South, Nigeria. He clearly states that buying of votes at any election is not allowed, because it is criminally banding the perpetrators as oafs. 

Various questions are posited to him by the stakeholders and of a truth he pragmatically and assiduously provided encouraging answers with which grey areas in the minds of participants are adequately cleared. He largely appealed to the traditional leaders and religious leaders to always offer prayers to God of Prophets and Apostles for protection of all and sundry at all given times. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline the chairman of Labour Party, Edo State Chapter, Comrade Kelly Ogbalior states that the INEC One Day Sensitization Programme on the Edo Governorship Election is actually timely and apt adding that political parties should do their campaigns on issues based demography not character assassination of candidates and he also added that election will come and go, yet, people still remain as the main thrust of the society. 

Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline chairman, Edo State Council for Islamic Affairs Alhaji Abdulazeez Igbinidu states that they as Muslims that they are always praying to Allah for peace to reign in the land adding that they will cast their votes for the candidate of their choice.
