Speaking
to the members of the fourth estate of the realm at Jaspand International
Hotel, Olusegun Street, Pleasure Busstop, Orile Agege, Lagos, South West,
Nigeria, the District Rotaract Representative (DRR) RTR. Fathia Adekeye states
that the Rotaract Club is an International Organization not a secret cult as
many persons may see her in their own views adding that the Rotaract Club as an
International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is heavily poised with rendering
humanitarian services to the down trodden masses.
Furthermore, she states that
her visitation to the Rotaract Club of New Lagos, Agege District 9112 with her
uncommon entourage is purely to cross check at the activities of the club as guiding
them pragmatically and as well as proffer advice where necessary for the growth
of the club. Furthermore she states that the Ikenne event is their annual event
which is tagged “Great Trek” averring
that they shall be meeting with the youths of community as they shall be on
grounds on Friday, 27th September, 2024. She says that there will be
a novelty, football match between the youths of Ikenne and members of the Rotaract
Club and thereafter there will be a party adding that the whole essence of
dealing with the youths of Ikenne community is to foster friendship love, unity
et’al. She states that come on Saturday morning being 28th
September, 2024 very early in the morning they will all be ready for the great
trek around the community with their rotaract placards with messages of Love, Peace,
Service, Belongings and also with their fliers and that they will be getting
the contacts of anyone they meet with as
they distribute their fliers to them that day just to create awareness and the
gospel of rotaract. And, again DRR Adekeye states that the great trek shall be
from 9am to 1pm and after that, that there shall refreshment and thereafter
everybody goes away to their various destinations. Speaking with
Iconblazemagazineonline the president of the Rotaract Club of New Lagos Agege
District 9112 RTR. Mohammed Kehinde states that they have learnt lots of
experiences from the manner with which the DRR Adekeye and her esteemed entourage
has lighted their own club adding that the award awarded to RTR. Lawal Mohammed
because when they had their membership seminar, RTR. Lawal is the one who anchored
the affairs of the membership seminar and that he RTR. Lawal did a good job and
for this reason he did get a commendation award. RTR. Kehinde states that in
two weeks that they shall be having basic literacy project averring that they
will donate a board to a school, and that they have already earmarked the
school since they have done their needs assessment for the cost of the board. He
says that they will donate some educational materials to some students who are
in need for this month September, 2024 and again in this same month, he says
that they are in partnership with a new club where they will be visiting an
orphanage home at Ebute Melta, Lagos Mainland, Lagos and they will donate some
materials to the orphans. RTR. Kehinde states that their last project of clean
up the environment and tree planting exercise around Oyewole where the heaps of
refuse removed adding that they are trying to connect with LAWMA Managements
and Executive Chairman of Orile Agege LCDA Hon. Babatunde Johnson and see how
they can make him to key into the ideals and ideas of Rotaract
Club and Rotary.
