Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, the Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ladoke Akintola Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos South West, Nigeria pleasantly demonstrates overwhelming flows of love to Miss Raji Bidemi Jumoke with a brand new wheelchair and also a cheque of One Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira Only (N180,000.00) to Maryland Primary Inclusive Unit School, Maryland, Ikeja, Lagos. 

This overwhelming flows of love is demonstrated at Happies Recreation and Resort in the full view of the District Governor of Rotary Club International District 9112 Femi Adenekan, Assistant District Governor Grey Otsu, RTN. Oluwa Enitan Sophie President 2024/2025 et’al. 

The Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja, Lagos also inducted Seven New Members and the necessary ceremonies needed to be performed are carried out by the District Governor RTN. Adenekan ably assisted by his entourage. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonine the District Governor RTN. Adenekan states that Rotary Club is doing well in all ramifications averring that Rotary Club is a Club to watch out for because she is growing in leaps and bounds. Speaking further he resonated that the President of Rotary Club of New Lagos, Ikeja, RTN. 

Oluwa Enitan Sophie is doing very well with her excos adding that he encourages her to keep the flag flying high. He adds that the new inductees should imbibe the principles of Rotary and join them in services of humanity. He adds that their motto is “Service Above Self” and that every Rotarian is to keep the motto and also work towards it. He adds that they are currently in partnership with the State Government in planting about 1000 coconut trees across Lagos Metropolis. 

He avers that they are also planning to plant another 9000 coconut trees. He submits that they are also planning upscale the necessary training of special children and as well as build a vocational schools if lands are available for them to build. Speaking with Iconblazemagazineonline RTN. Oluwa Enitan Sophie states that Rotary is very good on supporting Polio Survivors, that the young lady Raji Jumoke who got a new wheelchair is someone very known to her when they were undergraduates at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos. 

She says that Miss Raji was one time in a Facebook with her, but, they lost touch only to see her post on a platform last week that she needs a wheelchair. She submits that she did a whatsapp message asking her what happened to her wheelchair and that she responded that the tyres are bad. 

And that she is not employed therefore she has no monies to purchase a new one. RTN. Oluwa Sophie states that she did a screen shot of the wheelchair and that she sent it to her club for the board to evaluate it accordingly. 

Furthermore she says that they went into action whereby a project committee was set up to crosscheck the cost of a new wheel chair adding that they did speak to her to know the kind of wheelchair she wants and she also added that they really wish to know the type of wheelchair she desires. 

she says that when they got the wheelchair ready that they sent a message to her that they would be at the presentation of the wheelchair for 5pm, but, alas, she came here as early as 1pm coming all the way from Mowe, she says that when Jumoke called her to say that she is already at the venue of the presentation, that she (Oluwa Sophie) told her that she came too early as the District Governor would be around by 5pm. 

She says that she knew, but, that she is quite pleasant to get a new wheelchair. RTN. Oluwa Sophie says that she is very happy that they have been able to put smiles on her face as she (Jumoke) has been sending messages of appreciations to them. RTN. Oluwa Sophie says that the N180,000.00 handed over to Lydia Isaac of Maryland Primary Inclusive Unit School is a support to the Teacher teaching sign languages to the special children adding that it is heavy support which they would revisit in another six months. 

She says that the month of September is a literary and basic education for Rotary and that is what they have done to Maryland Primary Inclusive Unit School to help the Art Teacher teaching the children with special needs do not learn the ways other children learn. Both Jumoke and Lydia Isaac thanked the Rotary Club of New Lagos of their large heartedness towards them. RTN. Yusuf Garuba and RTN. Nwaoha Gospel stated that they are happy to be inducted as members of Rotary Family. 

They both concurred that they would uncommonly abide to the principles of Rotary Club globally. RTN. Yusuf Garuba is the Anchor Man of YG Football Club, Ikeja, a passionate developer of young talents from the youths of the Republic. Miss Raji is a graduate of Accounting from UNILAG and she says that she is looking for employment that shall support her financially. She is therefore appealing to well meaning Nigerians to come to her aid.
